My Educational Autobiography

Knowledge in A Book
Knowledge In A Book

This started as a school project in my graduate Instructional Design and Technology program through George Mason University. The assignment was to write about our educational experiences in an autobiography format that has shaped our approach to learning and reason for pursuing a career in education. Along with our experiences, we had to include context in the form of technology, social and cultural events that put our events in proper perspective.

Given most of my classmates were in their twenties/thirties, writing about their life experiences weren’t that much of a big deal. I entered my grad program at the age of 63 with a lot more “educational” experiences then the average student. My challenge for this project was to create a format that did not overwhelm my readers but still provided all the required information.

Out of this assignment I developed a format that I really liked. This was my first complex webpage, pushing me to stretch my design skills. I’ve posted my page here, and have since used this format for other webpage projects.

This current iteration of my autobiography has grown since my college assignment. I’ve added some additional content that was not in the original document which I believe adds to my life story.
